Decarbonizing Hydronic Systems

Presented by:   Robert O'Brien

Tuesday, March 26 from 8:45 AM until 10:00 AM, Sonoma C

With the push to decarbonize the heating sector, hydronic systems present a unique challenge. There are approximately 7 million hydronically heated homes in the USA . Many of these buildings have no ductwork and don’t lend themselves to the installation of an air-based system for many reasons. This presentation will cover the basics of the common hydronic heating systems in use and the methods and considerations to the integration of air to water heat pumps with existing boilers to create a hybrid heating system and the use of renewable fuels to reach a true net zero carbon building.
