Refrigerants are the life blood of all ACR systems. 170 years ago refrigerants were limited by the thermodynamic properties of the naturally occurring fluids that were available. Early 1900s man-made refrigerants were developed, 1970's the theory on global impact was talked about, 1990's long term (HFCs) and short term (HCFCs) replacement were available. Today's refrigerants like HFOs, CO2, Hydrocarbons, and Ammonia are the future or is it the past?
