Kenneth Ripberger, CMHE
Kenny started his HVAC/R career as a helper in the family business in 1973, where he crawled around in water tower basins with a scrub brush. After obtaining his Associates degree in Science for Mechanical Engineering Technology at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, LA, he spent 28 years as an HVAC/R service contractor. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and has held state mechanical licenses in Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas.
He was self-employed as KR Services and was heavily involved in HERS energy ratings, supermarket consulting in the Caribbean, and Hurricane Katrina mold assessment work. He is still self-employed in building science diagnostics, infrared thermography and code required HVAC system designs/software development. He returned to Delgado College in 2007 to become the HVAC/R department chair, and is presently an Associate Professor at that institution.
In 2011 he earned his Certified Master HVAC Educator (CMHE) credential. He has served officer terms for chapters of the Louisiana Heat Pump Association, Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, and the National Energy Rater Association.
