Gene began his career with the Sporlan Valve Company in 1973, in the Sales and Marketing Department in St. Louis, MO. In 1979, after accepting a position as Sales Engineer in the Kansas City Office, he managed a sales territory which included parts of six states in the Midwest for twenty-three years. Following that, he served as the Northwest Regional Manager, with seven direct reports, having sales responsibility for nineteen states in the Midwest and Northwest.
In his current position as Training Materials Development Manager for Sporlan Valve Division of Parker Hannifin, he is responsible for development and implementation of training programs for the continuing education of Sporlan refrigeration and air conditioning wholesalers and their contractor customers.
He has been an active member of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) since March of 1980 and has served as the ASHRAE Kansas City Chapter Refrigeration Committee Chairman for more than fifteen years. He has also been an active member of the Kansas City Chapter of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) since January of 1982.
