Ductless Inverter System Components Testing

Presented by: Mark Harte, Mark McQuay, Josh Barr, Michael Ragan, and Thomasena Philen of Daikin

Location: Legacy South 3

After a brief introduction, this exciting, hands-on session will focus on the testing of inverter boards, EEVs,

compressor insulation, diode bridges, power modules, thermistors and other components found on inverter-

controlled equipment. Attendees of the session will move from station to station as they learn to evaluate

these components in a high-energy setting.

For safety reasons, session attendance is strictly limited to 24. Sorry, but those arriving after the room has

reached this capacity will not be granted admission.

Note: Technicians should always consult manufacturer’s service manuals for details and methods specific to

their product.

Let's Start Off on the Right Foot

Presented by: Don Fort of LG Electronics

Location: Symposium

The continued satisfactory operation of a ductless split system is greatly affected by the quality of the

installation and start-up procedures. This session will concentrate on the industry's best practices for the

successful start-up of ductless split air conditioning equipment.

An Intelligent Approach to System Diagnostics

Presented by: Bill Jones of Kriwan

Location: Forum East 4

It's a known fact that 90% of all compressor failures are caused by external factors. With intelligent electronic

protection devices, 80% of these can be prevented and diagnosed quickly in the field. With downtime,

returned service calls and warranty returns are driving up expenses. The need for protecting a system while

providing communication and early diagnostics is now a necessity. This session will address such

technologies as well as easy-to-implement strategies for introducing this material to your students.

Training On Fire: Creating Contagious Learning

Presented by: Martin Easley of Valley College

Location: Forum West 1 & 2 (66)

This session will equip the trainer with a new outlook and focus to instruct and train with passion. Make your

training contagious for the learner. Bring the classroom to life by invoking a fire and passion within the

learner in order to make the average instructional day superior! Make your efforts shine!
