Breakfast & General Session: “A Utility’s Perspective on HVACR Education.”

Educator Credentialing Awards.

Anne Marie Blankenship, Program Manager, Southern California Edison

Heroes Ballroom

Utility companies are looking to maximize the energy efficiency of HVACR equipment,

manufacturers are looking for ways to reduce warranty cost, and contractors are seeking

technicians that can reduce their call backs. While these seem like very separate issues, they

are about: proper equipment sizing, charging, airflow, Psychrometrics, and combustion

efficiency. As utility companies rollout incentive programs to increase energy efficiency, thermal

comfort, and indoor air quality - the demand for a highly skilled, highly technical,

credentialed workforce also increases.

Introducing Southern California HVAC Optimization Program, a visionary paradigm for HVACR

programs to holistically approach to the whole building. Through crosscutting utility program

knowledge and resources, key stakeholder outreach and investment, and leveraged

partnerships, see how Southern California Edison and valued partners have been able to affect

a significant change in approach to installation, maintenance, and service in effort to transform

the market. Understand the drivers, the intent, the investment, the roadmap, and the advanced

technologies that have generated Southern California Edison's success.

Upon conclusion of the presentation, HVAC Excellence will recognize the instructors who had

the title of Certified Master HVACR Educator bestowed upon them over the last year.

Meals will be served from 7:00 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. allowing everyone time to be seated prior to

the session.
