Larry Chang

Larry Chang is the Founding Director at the BEST Center, specializing in sustainable development and education including: green building, renewable energy, energy efficiency, accessibility/universal design, and sustainable business practices. Larry has a Bachelor of Science and Engineering from Princeton University, a Master of Architecture from Yale University School of Architecture, and a Certificate in Sustainable Practices from Dominican University of California. In 1999, he established his own practice committed to sustainability, accessibility, and healthy buildings. On the academic side, he has taught at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Savannah College of Art & Design, and City College SF. Currently, he manages the Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow (BEST) Center at Laney College, where he promotes and helps to develop environmental control technology, building automation, and energy management degree programs at community colleges nationwide. BEST has collaborated with AACC's SEED Center to promote and inform faculty about the "Campus as a Living Lab" pedagogy, both via webinar and at BEST workshops.
