Rusty's journey in the field of refrigeration began in 1986 when he joined Heatcraft, a leading company specializing in refrigeration solutions. He started his career in the R&D department, where he focused on engineering projects related to supermarket refrigeration. From there, Rusty took on the role of Lab Manager at Hillphoenix, where he oversaw the operation and management of the company's lab. For eight years, Rusty played a pivotal role in driving innovation and product development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality refrigeration solutions to customers. Building on his extensive experience, Rusty transitioned into a corporate training role at Hillphoenix. For 15 years, he served as the Corporate Training Manager, responsible for providing comprehensive training programs to refrigeration service technicians. In this role, Rusty imparted his knowledge and expertise to professionals at various stages of their careers, covering a wide range of topics from basic refrigeration principles to advanced concepts like CO2 Booster systems. Rusty is now the Training Director for the NASRC, a 501c3 nonprofit working in partnership with the industry to address the barriers to natural refrigerants. In his current role, Rusty serves as an industry-wide resource and is committed to accelerating training for refrigeration technicians nationwide. Rusty has dedicated his entire career to commercial and supermarket refrigeration, and his experience and expertise make him a natural fit as the NASRC Training Director. Through his training programs, Rusty equips technicians with the skills and knowledge required to tackle complex refrigeration challenges effectively.
