Lincoln College of Technology (Grand Prairie, TX) Granted HVAC Excellence Accreditation August 09, 2012

The Lincoln College of Technology in Grand Prairie, Texas has been granted accreditation of their Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) program by HVAC Excellence. Technology is rapidly changing, nowhere is this more apparent than in the HVACR industry. How can prospective students be assured that a HVACR program will provide them with employment ready skills? How can employers be assured that the graduates of a program are properly trained? The answer to these questions is simple, by selecting an HVACR program that is nationally accredited with credentialed instructors. Lincoln College of Technology in Grand Prairie wanted to verify that they were teaching their students at the highest level. To accomplish this they decided to seek programmatic accreditation from HVAC Excellence. Programmatic accreditation is where an independent third party HVAC Excellence reviews a program against set educational and industry standards in: curriculum, faculty, student facilities, placement services, financial aid, and advisory committee involvement, training facilities, equipment & safety. In seeking accreditation the staff at the Lincoln College of Technology had to complete and submit a self study evaluation of their program that demonstrates how they meet each required standard. The self study once completed was sent to HVAC Excellence for their executive team to thoroughly assess for compliance against each standard. HVAC Excellence having approved the self study sent an onsite team to conduct an intense onsite review of the programs. Upon conclusion of their onsite visit, HVAC Excellence granted the Lincoln College of Technology in Grand Prairie, TX. a Six year accreditation of their program, the highest attainable. The final determination to the school included zero compliance corrections as the school met or exceeded all standards. As such, they stand as a program for others to emulate. This should not come as a surprise to anyone in the Grand Prairie community as the state of Texas has five HVACR instructors who hold the title of Certified Master HVACR Educator (CMHE). All five of those instructors are on staff at Lincoln College of Technology in Grand Prairie, TX. The CMHE title is the highest credential that HVAC Excellence can be conferred upon an HVACR educator. Stephen White, Terry Robinson, Jorge Tovar, Richard Ehrardt, Frank Kendall, Clayton Roszell Now that the program has been granted accreditation it can: provide employers with confidence in the quality of the program, assist students in selecting a program, assist students with transfer credits, and help the students with advanced placement in the United Association apprenticeship program.
